Job Overview:
We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Accounts Payable Clerk to join our team. The Accounts Payable Clerk will be responsible for processing invoices, reconciling accounts, and ensuring timely and accurate payments to vendors and agents. This role requires strong technical accounting skills and knowledge and experience using Google Sheets and QuickBooks. (Candidate will be tested on these skills). The ideal candidate will have a keen eye for detail, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to work independently.
Duties:
- Process invoices and verify accuracy of information
- Match invoices with accounts and receiving documents
- Properly GL Code and enter invoices into the accounting system
- Reconcile vendor statements and resolve any discrepancies
- Prepare and process weekly check runs and ACH payments
- Maintain accurate records of all accounts payable transactions
- Assist with month-end closing activities related to accounts payable
- Respond to vendor inquiries in a timely manner
- Assist with other accounting tasks as needed
Requirements:
- Minimum of 2 years experience as an Accounts Payable Clerk or similar role
- Minimum of 2 years experience paying vendors with checks and ACH
- Strong knowledge of Google Suite, specifically Google Sheets (will need to pass test)
- Knowledge of technical accounting principles and practices
- Strong math skills a must
- Must be a quick learner when it comes to learning new accounting software systems
- Experience with property management accounting is a plus
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy needed
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Ability to work independently and meet deadlines
- Knowledge of general ledger accounting is preferred
- Experience with journal entries and reconciliations is a plus
- Keen understanding of accounting principles
