Landesign Construction & Maintenance, Inc. is Hiring a Human Resources Manager Near Santa Rosa, CA

Landesign Construction & Maintenance, Inc. is looking to add a Human Resources Manager to our growing team. Landesign provides commercial landscape services in Sonoma, Napa, and Marin Counties.

As the Human Resources Manager, you will be responsible for leading and managing all day-to-day HR operations. This role will administer, evaluate, and design employee policies and programs, ensuring alignment with our corporate goals and established regulations. In partnership with ownership, the HR Manager will make our company a premier employment destination for the top talent in our industry and build upon our great company culture.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Develop HR strategies and programs to enhance employee experience and offer employee support to each staff member
  • Handle employee issues and provide conflict resolution support when needed
  • Provide guidance and training to managers on HR processes and procedures
  • Ensure that the new hire orientation process properly introduces new employees to the corporate culture
  • Deliver compensation and benefit comparison reports to the executive team annually and make recommendations to improve the company’s current offerings
  • Determine new ways to measure employee morale and identify solutions for improving overall employee satisfaction
  • Act as liaison between the company and outside legal and professional resources to ensure that all employment policies and practices follow current laws and regulations
  • Work with Construction and Maintenance Division Managers to develop career ladders and training programs
  • Create job descriptions, job postings, and Org Charts, and meet with management to determine staffing needs
  • Post jobs, screen candidates, conduct and schedule interviews, and track recruiting pipeline for field positions
  • Organize company events and employee recognition programs
  • Establishes and maintains all employee files, ensuring compliance with state and federal laws
  • Partner with Accounting Manager to administer employee benefits and work with our broker on benefit questions, issues, and strategy
  • Work with outside vendors to monitor the COBRA program
  • File workers’ compensation claims with the carrier, determine first aid cost payments and confirms all workers’ compensation paperwork has been completed accurately and on time
  • Process all terminations and required paperwork
  • Provides coaching and support to executives, management, office staff, and field employees
  • Oversees annual and 90-day employee evaluation process
  • Coordinates administrative functions to ensure efficiency and accountability
  • Responsible for HRIS Software (IPS/INOVA) and HR processes contained therein
  • Utilize Microsoft Office Suite, QuickBooks, and other industry-specific software
  • Special projects or other functions as assigned
  • Bachelor’s degree in human resources or related business field
  • 5 years’ experience in a human resources generalist or manager role; supervisory experience preferred
  • Demonstrated ability to develop programs and policies that enhance the employee experience
  • Comprehensive understanding of local, state, and federal employment laws
  • Exceptional interpersonal communication and relationship-building skills
  • Strong understanding and experience working in an HRIS; IPS/INOVA software preferred
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred
