Joint Research and Development Inc is Hiring a Business Development Analyst Near Stafford, VA

JRAD is seeking candidates for a Business Development Analyst position supporting company growth objectives within the DoD and DHS marketplaces. This position is a telework arrangement.

Roles/Responsibilities:

  • The Business Development Analyst supports executives and capture managers in achieving business development goals by generating leads, developing and maintaining the pipeline, supporting capture activities, and supporting proposal management.
  • The ideal candidate has high energy, is organized and innovative, while protecting business sensitive information when communicating with executives and potential teaming partners.
  • The successful candidate must be a self-starter with tenacious abilities to orchestrate the business development process.
  • This is a remote position that may require occasional on-site support within company facilities or at conferences.

Responsibilities

  • Support the identification, research, qualification, capture, risk assessment, and proposal development of business opportunities that align with company strategic goals and capabilities.
  • Maintain a robust opportunity pipeline in management systems (i.e., GovWinIQ and Deltek CRM) through analysis of agency procurement forecasts, opportunity research, engagement with capture managers, and industry relationships.
  • Provide high quality research and analysis support including trend analysis, competitive assessment, determination of discriminators, and customer knowledge.
  • Use Deltek GovWinIQ, Customer Relationship Management systems, and SAM.gov to research business opportunities.
  • Create and maintain capture and proposal sites in SharePoint.
  • Create and maintain archival sites for past performance information, customer feedback, BD related templates, and capture related information such as solicitations and industry day presentations.
  • Provide updates to company websites and social media sites.
  • Research potential teammate representations and certifications, NAICS codes, and capabilities in the SAM.gov and open-source collection and reviews to aid business decisions.
  • Collect, analyze, and interpret data to derive qualified recommendations and assessments, business plans, competitive strategies, and approaches.
  • Communicate findings and recommendations through reports and presentations.
  • Prepare and present presentations and gate reviews (along with capture managers) for executives.
  • Support proposal efforts as well as Requests for Information / Sources Sought Notice responses, White Papers, etc.
  • Be willing to learn additional tasks such as pricing and advanced proposal management as you grow within the company.

Required Skills and Education:

Qualifications

  • Baccalaureate degree plus no less than five years of relevant experience with a DoD or DHS support contractor.
  • Understanding of the Professional Services market supporting the U.S. Federal Government.
  • Minimum of two years of direct experience in a Business Development, Market Research or Federal Contracting role in a for-profit entity

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Must be a team player who communicates effectively through written and oral means to all levels, including senior executives and U.S. Government contracting and acquisition professionals
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and be able to respond to changes Possess superior desktop publishing abilities along with exceptional communications skills
  • Must have advanced knowledge of a variety of computer software applications in word processing, spreadsheets, and programs such as MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, MS Project, SharePoint, MS Teams, Customer Relationship Management, and Outlook
  • Must possess knowledge and understanding of the Business Development Lifecycle (identify, qualify, research, capture, proposal development), competitive research and analysis
  • Must be process-driven and be capable of integration of new tools to realize efficiencies
  • Must be proficient with the use of business intelligence tools, provide analytics to support bid/no bid decisions and possess a demonstrated knowledge of the business development process.
  • Must have demonstrated knowledge of the U.S. Government's procurement processes

  • Must have ability to obtain a Secret level clearance
