Are you a dynamic, highly motivated individual with a knack for numbers and a passion for finance? If so, this Staff Accountant position may be the perfect fit for you! As a key member of our accounting team, you will be tasked with maintaining financial records, assisting with month-end and year-end closures, and managing payroll. This position is a unique opportunity to engage with multiple aspects of the business and have a direct impact on our financial operations.
Responsibilities:
As the Contract Staff Accountant, your day-to-day tasks will include, but are not limited to:
1. Maintaining and updating accounting records and files.
2. Analyzing budgets and creating expense reports.
3. Examining tax policies and handling tax payments and returns.
4. Conducting regular ledger and general journal reviews.
5. Assisting with month-end and year-end closure processes.
6. Processing payroll on a regular basis.
7. Preparing financial reports for management teams and stakeholders.
8. Identifying and addressing discrepancies.
9. Participating in internal audits and assisting with external audit processes.
10. Ensuring compliance with state and federal regulatory requirements and professional standards.
Qualifications:
To be successful in this role, you will need:
1. A Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
2. 4 years of experience in a similar role.
3. Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel, including pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, and complex formulas.
4. Strong understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
5. Experience with payroll processing.
6. Ability to assist with month-end and year-end closure processes.
7. Excellent numerical skills and attention to detail.
8. Exceptional analytical and problem-solving abilities.
9. High level of integrity and ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
10. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
11. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
