We are seeking an experienced Staff Accountant to join our team of award-winning litigators. 

Overview:
The Staff Accountant is a vital position within the Accounting and Finance function of the Firm. With a focus on general ledger, AP and AR, account reconciliations including month end journal entries and assisting with Treasury activity across multiple bank accounts and entities, this role will be responsible for a variety of assignments including supporting the other team members to ensure goals are reached. The position requires familiarity with accounting practices and procedures and knowledge of a wide variety of prescribed accounting codes and classifications. This position reports to the Controller.

Responsibilities:

• Accounts Receivable: Invoicing, payment application, AR statement reconciliation, review, and payment follow up; and deposit entries
• Accounts Payable: Enter and code invoices, bill payment application, check runs, ACH payments, AP Statement reconciliation, review, and payment follow-up
• General Ledger: Journal entries (EOM, Adjusting, Reclass); bank transaction entry, account reconciliations, financial statement review & analysis; audit support & documentation, financial reporting, ad-hoc projects, and reporting
• Ensure business transactions are reported in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles
• Work closely with team members on the month-end close, including, but not limited to, reconciliation, budgeting, forecasting, etc.
• Assist with various audits
• Effectively communicate interdepartmentally regarding Accounting matters
• Research and analyze expense variances for company management
• Look for opportunities to improve current practices and procedures
• Additional duties as assigned

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or minor or concentration.
• 0 - 2 years' of professional accounting experience
• Detail oriented and organized
• Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal skills with a customer service focus
• Advanced Microsoft Excel and strong analytical skills
• Proficient in word processing and spreadsheet software
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• Proven ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously
• Ability to work effectively and independently and to exercise sound judgment and discretion
