IPS Group Inc is Hiring a Staff Accountant Near San Diego, CA
- Assists in the preparation of consolidated internal and external financial statements by gathering and analyzing information from the general ledger system and from various business units.
- Verify that certain transactions are properly recorded in the accounting system including the cash records, inventory, purchasing, A/R, A/P and general ledgers.
- Prepare month end journals and balance sheet reconciliations.
- Support the team in the rollout of NetSuite modules including Standard Costing, Consolidation, Fixed Assets, Vendor Prepayments and Prepaids.
- Assist team members in the implementation and development of new software applications for enhanced financial reporting and forecasting.
- Organization and processing of monthly, quarterly, and annual tax filings including federal and state income tax, sales tax and annual state business registrations.
- Assist in the annual audit by preparing a wide variety of account reconciliation and audit schedules.
- Assist in the creation and documentation of new accounting processes related to our Enforcement/ LPR business.
- Assist team members/ operations in our United Kingdom and Canadian subsidiaries.
- Candidate must illustrate skills, experience and knowledge including:
- Understanding the natural balance of accounts
- Ability to understand and record accrual journal entries
- Experience with amortizing assets (or liabilities)
- Understanding of basic revenue and cost recognition
- Reliability and consistency
- Perseverance, determination, and follow-through
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance.
- 5 years in accounting or related experience.
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles and practices.
- Proficiency in accounting software applications (NetSuite or similar ERP; Excel).
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Attention to detail and strong organizational abilities.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
- Maintain confidentiality and adhere to ethical financial practices.
