About the role:

We are seeking a qualified, motivated individual to join our company as a Senior Accountant. As part of our team, you will be responsible for assisting with the monthly financial statement close, overseeing the established integration of our billing and accounting systems, assisting with our external audit, and remitting our income and sales taxes. Our preferred candidate has four to five years of accounting experience, preferably including the use of the NetSuite and NetSuite OpenAir software. This experience should include: preparing financial statement reconciliations and documentation under a monthly deadline, audit preparation work or actual audit experience, a strong understanding of revenue recognition principles, and a proven record of maintaining tax compliance. This is a remote opportunity within the US.

Responsibilities:

• Generate understandable financial account reconciliations monthly.
• Meet deadlines on the financial statement close.
• Ensure proper revenue recognition on customer projects with a variety of billing methodologies.
• Assist with the preparation of documentation for the annual external audit and ensure proper internal controls are followed.
• File and remit monthly sales taxes for the few states that require service-based sales taxes.
• Report on debt covenants monthly.
• Produce managerial reports surrounding budget-to-actual, work-in-process, scheduling, and backlog reporting.
• Ensure the connection between NetSuite OpenAir and the NetSuite General Ledger synchronizes for proper revenue recognition, accounts receivable, deferred revenue, and work-in-progress.
• Communicate effectively and coordinate with other teams to solve any discovered issues.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• 4-5 years working on financial statements and analysis.
• Proficient with Microsoft Excel.
• Either experience auditing or providing support on an external audit.
• Proven experience in meeting financial close deadlines with clear and repeatable documentation covering the reconciliation of financial accounts.
• Solid understanding of ASC 606 and other generally accepted accounting principles.
• A high degree of accuracy and attention to detail.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with NetSuite and NetSuite Open Air preferred
• Experience with the Professional Services Industry
