ASSISTANT CONTROLLER: PROPERTY ACCOUNTING

Imprimis is seeking an Assistant Controller for their client, a quickly expanding real estate development firm located in the Galleria area of Dallas. The ideal candidate will have a B.S. degree in accounting, 6 years accounting experience including experience in property management accounting and 2-3 years supervisory experience. The position will report to the controller and oversee a staff of 8 in the property accounting department. QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor’s Degree in accounting
• CPA certification not required but highly preferable
• Minimum 6 years accounting experience
• Minimum 3 years supervisory experience
• Real estate/property management accounting experience preferred
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Proficient in Excel, MS Office Suite; Yardi software experience
• Strong analytical skills
• Management skills; including supervision, organization, delegation and time management
• Able to work in a fast-paced environment.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

• Report property financial information to Chief Accounting Officer and leadership for incorporation into the company’s financial reports
• Ability to recognize and grasp accounting issues readily and apply to Company
• Research new accounting pronouncements for applicability to company when needed
• Provide information to and receive information from senior management in Asset Management Operations, Construction, Information Systems and Corporate Accounting
• Perform top level review of consolidated property financial information for accuracy/reasonableness
• Oversee monthly close process for property ledgers to ensure adherence to time schedules
• Oversee all financial reporting aspects for owned fee-managed portfolios
• Oversee all financial reporting aspects for 3rd party fee-managed portfolios
• Oversee preparation of annual audit files and coordinate the audits
• Coordinate audits with third party independent auditors during annual audit process for multiple portfolios.
• Recruit, hire, train and mentor staff
• Oversee work of Property Accounting Staff

Job Type: Full-time

Salary: $85,000.00 - $90,000.00 per year
