Experience & Skills:• 7-10 years of experience in safety management, especially in sectors with intense regulatory oversight.
• Comprehensive grasp of safety regulations and standards, such as OSHA, DOT, environmental safety standards, and pandemic-related guidelines.
• Expertise in fleet safety protocols to ensure the safety and operational efficiency of all vehicles.
• Proficient in facility safety, including adverse weather protocols and ensuring protection of employees and assets during unforeseen events.
• Ability to conduct comprehensive risk evaluations and implement corresponding preventive measures.
• Effective communication skills with a talent for educating and guiding staff at every level.
• Familiarity with state-of-the-art safety management software and tools.
Responsibilities:In partnership with the Operations Manager and executive team, the Safety Manager will:
• Design, implement, and sustain safety programs that adhere to both regulatory standards and the unique requirements of the company.
• Oversee and ensure fleet safety by implementing standards and practices for vehicle operation and maintenance.
• Direct environmental safety protocols to reduce environmental impact and comply with pertinent regulations.
• Continuously stay updated and ensure company-wide compliance with standards set by regulatory bodies like OSHA, DOT, and other relevant agencies.
• Draft, refine, and enforce safety guidelines tailored for adverse weather conditions, prioritizing employee safety and seamless operational continuity.
• Develop, disseminate, and ensure adherence to pandemic safety guidelines in alignment with public health directives and mandates.
• Regularly conduct on-site and off-site safety audits and field training, assessing, and enhancing the efficiency of safety protocols.
• Facilitate training sessions, workshops, and awareness drives to familiarize staff with best safety practices and updates.
• Collaborate with various department leaders to nurture a safety-centric organizational culture.
Education/Training:• Bachelor’s degree in safety management, Occupational Health, or related fields. Acquiring certifications like Certified Safety Professional (CSP) would be an advantage.
• Must possess a keen eye for detail and adopt a proactive stance, emphasizing the creation of a hazard-free work environment.
• Demonstrated leadership and problem-solving skills, paired with the enthusiasm to advocate for safety protocol compliance.
• Ability to take charge, efficiently operate within structured guidelines, and liaise effectively with management, teams, and external regulatory bodies.
•PEC Train the Trainer Authorized PEC Instructor Certification Active for SafeLand/Safe Gulf Instructor
•H2S Clear & H2S Clear 4hr Instructor Certification
•Experience & Proficiency in completing required PEC & ISN Questionnaire’s, Compliance forms in safety software.
•Medic First Aid/CPR Instructor Certification Active
•DOT Safety & Software Knowledge & implementation
•-Strong knowledge of OSHA, US DOT; experience with Process Safety Management would be considered an asset.
•Strong organizational and communication skills.
• Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
•Knowledge of safety standards and compliance requirements.
•Ability to communicate in English fluently
• Driver’s License & cleared MVR & D/A Compliance
Work conditions:• Frequent on-site and off-site inspections, spanning diverse company locations and operational terrains.
• Periodic travel for attending safety-centric conferences, seminars, or liaising with regulatory authorities.
• Predominantly office-based role, but flexibility for outdoor operations during facility reviews, field training, or drills is essential.
• Must remain accessible for addressing emergencies or unanticipated safety concerns
