As an integral part of the sales team, this position is responsible for continuously looking for ways to improve each guest’s experience from providing exceptional guest service to assist in the overall sales, marketing, and promotional activities of Halekulani and Halepuna Waikiki. Achieve targeted goals in room nights, revenue and RevPar by conducting sales calls in appointed regions, participating in industry tradeshows, conducting presentations to reservation centers, negotiating and contracting groups, local and corporate accounts. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONSSolicit business from assigned markets to reach targeted goal in room nights, revenue and RevPar. Responsible market segments include:Group – AssociationGroup – CorporateGroup – IncentiveGroup - SMERF2. Responsible region is all non-Asia group markets across all market segments. 3. Solicit, negotiate and contract group business from the assigned regions either direct or through qualified secondary or third party sources such as, ALHI, LHW, Meeting Planner, Incentive House and/or not limited to travel agents.4. Travel as required to conduct personal sales calls, participate in travel shows, and select industry conferences and receptions for top clients.5. Conduct telephone solicitations as required to develop new business or close a contract6. Develop a result driven action plan that provides the foundation to reach targeted objectives7. Provide designated reports and analysis that are not limited to:Pre-trip ReportDaily Sales Trip ItineraryPost Trip ReportExpensesMonth-end Report8. Evaluate existing promotional sales programs and assist in developing new ones as deemed appropriate for the targeted market segment.9. Maintain a client database that is shared with all sales managers.10. Maintain complete knowledge of hotel information as changes and enhancement occur.Emergency: Assist with efforts during emergency. On call for all emergency situations.Perform all other duties as may be required or assigned. SUPERVISORY REQUIREMENTSReports To: Director of Sales & Marketing, Halekulani and Halepuna Supervises: NA EDUCATION/EXPERIENCEMinimum three (3) years hotel sales experience preferred.Minimum two (2) years managerial and supervisory skills.High school diploma or equivalent vocational training certificate.Any combination of education and experience which would provide the necessary knowledge, skills, and abilities to meet the minimum qualifications to perform the essential functions of this position. LICENSES/CERTIFICATIONSTuberculosis (TB) Clearance.Valid Drivers License with clean abstract. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIESAbility to anticipate guest needs; respond promptly and acknowledge all guests.Ensure familiarity with all hotel services/features and local attractions and activities to respond to guest inquiries accurately.Must be able to work without daily supervision.Must be highly organized, detail-oriented and have the ability to multi-task.Must be able to prioritize tasks while maintaining timeliness.Ability to maintain positive guest relations at all times.Must exhibit a poised and professional image and good voice image.Able to travel away from home base for multiple days/weeks at a time.Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel, Delphi and Epitome knowledge preferred.
