Position Purpose:
This position plays an integral role in back-office, passive donor relations, and
administrative functions supporting all fundraising efforts. The Development
Manager's responsibilities will mirror and compliment the Director of
Development's role with a focus on operations, data management, and
organization communications efforts. The position is hybrid as determined with
the Director of Development.
Essential Functions:
• Ensure integrity of data, maintain records, and track financial revenue to ensure quarterly goals are
achieved by the entire Advancement team.
• Create, implement, and support operational systems that will enable the Advancement Office to perform
with greater effectiveness, efficiency, and accountability.
• Gather content from Hope Partnership For Education's programs to keep supporters informed
Communication
• Create monthly newsletter for donors, parents/guardians, alumni, and neighbors using Hope's website.
• Manage Hope's social media accounts: Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, and Twitter sharing stories from
across the organization.
• Collaborate with Director of Development and Graphic Designer to generate quarterly reports.
• Maintain mailing distribution lists across all programs.
Prospect & Database Management
• Manage the site's fundraising database (Salesforce), including gift processing, reconciliation reports,
financial dashboards, and monthly proposal and revenue reports.
• Oversee gift processing, including processing donations, generating invoices for donors, and producing
timely acknowledgement letters.
• Collaborate with the Development Director to create progress and analysis reports, update individual
records, and facilitate pipeline review meetings.
• Assist with annual report, annual appeal mailings, including mailing logistics and tracking follow-up.
• Conduct supplemental research for corporate, individual and foundation prospect identification through
internal and external resources.
• Manage grant and foundation databases to identify prospective donors.
• Implement best practices, processes, and trainings into Advancement Office to ensure that the database
is being used effectively and efficiently.
• Document and maintain records of grant and foundation applications, reports, and documents.
• Ensure accuracy of all donor information through regular database maintenance.
Event & Operations Support
• Support RSVP's, registration, and outcome reporting for annual events such as the Friendraiser.
• Maintain relationships with external vendors to gather quotes, sign contracts, and monitor performance.
• Ensure all department expenses are processed in a timely manner.
• Manage inventory and storage of all department equipment, event supplies, and gift materials.
Qualifications:
• BA degree in Business, Communications, Marketing, Education or related field and a minimum of two
to three years of relevant experience.
• Public/private education, non-profit, or higher education experience preferred.zx
• Strong attention to detail, customer service, and time management skills.
• Strong writing, editing, proofreading skills required.
• Passion for collaborating with a diverse team, managing up and sideways.
• Experience using CRM platform such as Salesforce, a plus.
Physical Requirements and Work Environment:
• Occasionally lift up to 20 pounds
• Works in standard office conditions and climate, at desk and/or computer for extended periods of time
• May work in varied weather conditions or external site locations during special activities and events
• Works in an environment dealing with a variety of challenges, deadlines, and relationships
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively
