We are currently partnering with a prominent accounting firm in St Louis, who is seeking a highly motivated Staff Accountant to join their team. As a Staff Accountant, you will be responsible for various accounting tasks to support the financial operations of the company.
Responsibilities- Prepare and examine financial records, ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting standards
- Assist with the preparation of financial statements and reports
- Perform general ledger reconciliations and analysis
- Process accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions
- Assist with tax preparation and compliance
- Conduct variance analysis and provide recommendations for cost reduction and process improvement
- Assist with the month-end and year-end close processes
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve accounting issues and improve processes
- Stay updated on relevant accounting regulations and industry trends
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in accounting or finance in a CPA firm
- Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial accounting principles
- Proficiency in accounting software, such as QuickBooks or SAP
- Detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong organizational and time management abilities
- CPA license or working towards CPA certification is a plus
- Salary: $60K/yr - $100K/yr, negotiable
