- Prepare, post, verify, and record customer payments and transactions related to accounts receivable.
- Maintain accuracy of charges, credits, payments, and refunds, and reconcile the accounts receivable sub-ledger to the general ledger.
- Verify transactions, monitor incoming payments, and identify accounting discrepancies in a timely fashion.
- Maintain and update customer files, including name or address changes, mergers, or mailing attentions.
- Draft correspondences and invoices for standard past-due accounts and collections, identify delinquent accounts by reviewing files, and contact delinquent account holders to request payment.
- Create reports regarding the status of customer accounts as requested.
- Research customer discrepancies and past-due amounts with the assistance of the Collections Manager and other staff.
- Collaborate with enrollment management and student accounts to reconcile accounts receivable on a periodic (at least bimonthly) basis.
- Assist in generating monthly billing statements based on the general ledger.
- Assist supervisor in reconciling revenue accounts each month.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred.
- 2 years of experience in accounts receivable or related field.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).
- Knowledge of accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks) preferred.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to prioritize and manage multiple responsibilities.
