Harrison Street is Hiring a People Operations Coordinator Near Chicago, IL

The People Operations Coordinator will be instrumental in delivering an exceptional employee experience and have responsibility for facilitating several parts of the employee life cycle, internship programs and general employee experience. This individual should have a passion for teamwork and positively contributing to the success and reputation of Harrison Street. This is a full-time position in the Chicago office.

People Operations Generalist and HRIS Responsibilities

  • Manage and update employee information in the HRIS systems and run various reports as needed
  • Perform all on-boarding, off-boarding and job change tasks including running background checks, managing new hire paperwork, completing employment verifications, and processing terminations
  • Update internal office demographic documents such as address doc, organization chart, life events, new employee spotlights, etc.
  • Conduct new hire orientation and maintain all onboarding presentations
  • Collaborate with the Employee Experience Specialist on firm-wide initiatives and events
  • Support internal ESG and DEI efforts by acting as a member of the Firm’s various committees
  • Assist the broader People Operations team with administrative tasks and special projects as needed
Talent Acquisition Responsibilities
  • Manage the new analyst and internship programs by scheduling and supporting professional development events throughout the summer
  • Work with the Talent Acquisition Manager to post job openings, update company career page, compile and review resumes and maintain internal applicant tracking system
  • Schedule and coordinate interviews (phone, virtual, in person) working directly with candidates and external recruiters
  • Manage logistics for the recruiting process including travel arrangements, greeting candidates, conference room bookings, expense reimbursements, soliciting feedback, and generating and extending offers
  • Engage prospective candidates and conduct informational interviews and phone interviews as needed
  • Work with colleges and universities to provide Harrison Street with a strong on-campus recruiting presence for internships and full-time analyst roles.
  • Assist with campus Analyst/Internship recruiting efforts including posting on university job boards, arranging on campus and in office recruiting activities, reviewing resumes, scheduling phone and virtual interviews, arranging interview super days, coordinating candidate travel and supporting debrief sessions
Position Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Communications, Marketing, Sales or related field
  • 2 years’ administrative/recruitment experience, preferably in the Real Estate or Financial Services Industries
  • Proficient in LinkedIn Recruiter and/or other popular sourcing websites
  • Experience in handling sensitive or confidential information
  • Great communication and skills and experience interfacing with all levels of an organization
  • Strong team player with ability to respond to shifting priorities who is self-directed and results-oriented
  • High propensity for customer services and a willingness to go above and beyond to get the job done with flexibility to deal with last minute changes
  • Strong experience with Microsoft Office, specifically Outlook and Excel
  • Outstanding organizational skills, close attention to detail and the ability to multi-task
  • College Degree in human resources or related field preferred
