The full-time Payroll and Benefits Administrator will combine the skills of both benefits and payroll. On the payroll side, this role will be responsible for preparing and executing global payroll for 280 employees across several countries. On the benefits administrator side, this role will be responsible for the administration of all benefit programs including enrollment, claims resolution, and invoicing. In addition, this role will maintain Human Resources Information System (HRIS) databases and conduct data reporting for the People Operations team. The ideal team member will have strong attention to detail, a passion for people, value building relationships and enhancing company culture.

Payroll/HRIS Responsibilities

  • Process semi-monthly, bi-weekly and monthly payrolls and expense reimbursements for 280 employees across several countries, including bonus payments (i.e. annual awards, sign-on agreements, employee referrals and performance awards);
  • Calculate various payroll computations including overtime, hourly, personal time off balances, prorated pay, retro pay, termination pay, taxable benefits, deductions, etc.
  • Troubleshoot problems with paychecks, tax deductions, timecard issues, or other payroll-related matters and communicate with employees accordingly
  • Audit payroll deduction and benefit file feeds and liaise with HRIS provider, benefit carriers and the Business Technology Group to address discrepancies
  • Work with federal, state and local tax agencies to ensure filing compliance, respond to notices, complete global year-end tax processes and process amendments
  • Maintain a working knowledge of payroll best practices
  • Manage and update employee information in the HRIS systems and run various reports as needed
  • Perform all on-boarding, off-boarding and job change tasks including running background checks, managing new hire paperwork, completing employment verifications, and processing terminations
  • Manage relationship with third-party international specialists on Expatriate Assignments
  • Work with the Accounting Team to compile, analyze, and reconcile payroll data as needed
  • Maintain clean and accurate employment profiles and benefits enrollment history within ADP Workforce Now
  • Assist with the implementation and training of new payroll features, protocols, and procedures
Benefits Administrator Responsibilities
  • Oversee leave of absence programs and serves as subject matter expert and primary point of contact for leave administration (e.g. FMLA, PTO and Parental Leave)
  • Responsible for day-to-day benefit plan administration including processing enrollments, terminations, and changes through the various benefit portals and internal systems
  • Act as main point of contact and provide guidance and support to managers and employees to address any questions or issues related to group benefits. Work as liaison with insurance carriers/broker and employees to resolve issues as needed
  • Administers COBRA and workers compensation benefit programs
  • Facilitate annual open enrollment process to enroll eligible employees in group health plan, life and disability plan, flexible spending accounts and other benefits
  • Reconcile monthly statements for various benefit plans and submit for payment to Accounting Department
  • Distribute benefit related employee communications as needed.
  • Support the broader HR team with reporting and special projects as needed.
Requirements
  • 3 years of experience with payroll, benefits and general Human Resources
  • Experience with Human Resources Information Systems (HRIS) platforms (such as ADP Workforce NOW, Paycor, Paylocity, Workday, , etc.) is required
  • In-depth knowledge of human resources operations and best practices
  • Global payroll and benefits knowledge a plus
  • Strong ability to handle confidential information with discretion and maturity
  • Detail oriented with excellent analytical, time management and interpersonal skills
  • Proficient using MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong team player with ability to respond to shifting priorities who is self-directed and results-oriented
  • Ability to work across various areas of the business, including effective communication with people of different backgrounds and levels
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks, show adaptability and meet deadlines while maintaining accuracy with a strong attention to detail
  • College Degree in human resources or related field preferred
