We are a health forward grocery Store creating an experience where the shopper need not scrutinize every food label. Where the curation of the product will have undergone an extensive selection process ensuring the highest quality standards.
Currently we are looking for a talented and creative Prep Cooks. Able to work with centrally developed standardized recipes and menus, producing food often in high volumes. Apply highly methodical organizational skills, energy, accuracy, attention to detail and are mindful of the importance of sustainability.

Key Focus
· Prepares and executes recipes with consistency and attention.
· Ensure food quality and executed recipes meet or exceed standards.
· Ensure food quality is maintained at a high standard with particular attention to dating, monitoring, and ensuring superior food quality.
Primary Responsibilities
· Working as part of a team to ensure that all tasks are completed in order of priority and in the allotted time frame.
· Set up, review, and assist in stocking stations with all necessary supplies.
· Execute production items in a timely and orderly manner.
· Assist manager in monitoring kitchen and directing prep staff in day-to-day operations.
· Ensuring that all produced food is equal to or above the minimum set standards.
· Ensuring astute portion control, wastage control, and adhering to par levels within the department.
· Always maintain superior personal and production hygiene practice.
Service Standards
· Maintain high standards of cleanliness and appearance throughout the kitchen.
· Follow all Department of Health (DOH) standards.

Physical Demands
· The physical demands for this position are frequently lifting to 25 pounds, occasionally lifting up to 50 pounds, standing for long periods, bending, and moving intermittently during working hours.
SKILLS AND REQUIREMENTS:
· Proven experience as Prep cook or other relevant role
· Food handlers’ certificate required.
· Ability to make decisions, and multi-task.
· Superior communication skills
· Ability to build relationships and embrace change.
· Great attention to detail and creativity
· Organizing and leadership skills
· Willingness to replenish professional knowledge.
· In depth knowledge of sanitation principles, food preparation and baking techniques and nutrition
