- 18 years of age and High school diploma or GED. - Experience in Early Childhood Education, related field or CDA. - Knowledge of TDFPS Minimum Standards, TRS Standards,TECPDS system and Teaching Strategy.
- Computer literate. - Excellent organizational, communication and listening skills. - Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously. - Demonstrate physical, emotional and intellectual competencies necessary for self control, good judgment and supervision of children and interaction with staff and parents. - Current certification in CPR and First Aid and Food Handlers.
Responsibilities: - Report directly to Director/Assistant Director. - Assist in classroom as needed for staff replacement, including staff planning. - Maintain the environment, materials, equipment, routine, schedule and daily lesson plan of classroom when replacing teaching staff. - Responsible for accreditation process and yearly reporting through Texas Rising Star Program. - Assist with production and location of classroom and thematic teaching aids, maintain unit file cataloging and resource library and files. - Assist in kitchen and maintain Food Handlers registration. - Oversee and maintain library and staff resources and art supplies. - Perform opening/closing procedures center in absence of Director and Assistant Director. - Oversee Teaching Strategies/Texas School Ready Programs and support staff. - Distribute and place Scholastic Book Club orders. - Update website and promote GLCM functions on social media. - Assist with Lesson Planning when needed. - Responsible for registering staff for trainings and maintaining staff training files. - Participate and/or assist in monthly staff meetings, Open House, in-service meetings, work days and other school sponsored functions. - Taking classroom pictures and sending them to parent emails. - Complete 30 hours of appropriate training annually. - Perform other related duties as required. ā
