Family-owned since 1946, Glorioso's Italian Market needs a full-time Head Cashier/Customer Service Manager. At Glorioso's, we want our customers to have a positive and interactive experience while shopping, checking out at the registers, or attending a culinary class or event. We are looking for a motivated, dedicated, and passionate person to lead our team of cashiers and manage a store-wide training program.
LEADERSHIP ROLE & RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:
•Manage the Cashier Team and Front End.
•Supervision and role model for the front-end Customer Service Team.
•Create an environment and training program emphasizing excellent customer service and product knowledge. The training program will include knowledge of the entire market experience, family history, emphasis on "Italian Specialty," and local products. Training will be made available for all associates throughout the store.
•Supervisory responsibilities include recruiting and hiring the front-end Customer Service Team with a focus on high standards.
•Evaluate employees via performance reviews - recommend promotions and raises.
•Communication with all managers and departments daily to ensure the information on specials, classes, events, and promotions are current and available to the team and customers.

Requirements

• Maintain proper control of all cash and related media materials in the store.
• Prepare weekly schedules for the Customer Service Team to ensure proper coverage throughout business hours.
• Set-up of the daily cash drawers and maintain adequate change for the front-end operations.
• Oversee cashier productivity, scheduling, and breaks, while communicating performance issues to management.
• Knowledge of pricing, POS systems, wholesale ordering, and security procedures is essential for this position.
• Assist in culinary event promotion, registration and gift card transactions at the register.
• In coordination with the Purchasing Manager, maintain the reusable bag, tobacco, and candy departments and any necessary supplies.
• Coordination of payment for special customer requests, wholesale orders, online orders, and catering orders.
• Staff training for phone and interdepartmental communications.
• Participate in fiscal period inventories.
• Maintain a safe, clean, and well-organized working and shopping environment.
• Comply with all regulatory rules and regulations including safety, weights and measures, and local food and sanitation laws.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule which may include nights, weekends and holidays.
• Be able to work in a standing position for long periods.
