Job Description
The Controller will play a key role in overseeing the financial health of the organization, ensuring accuracy in financial reporting, and implementing effective financial controls. This position requires a detail-oriented and analytical professional with a strong background in accounting and financial management. As a crucial member of our finance team, the Controller will thrive in the dynamic and fast-paced environment of a startup, contributing to both the strategic and day-to-day financial operations of the company. The successful candidate will embrace the challenges and opportunities that come with working in a startup, demonstrating adaptability, creativity, and a proactive approach to financial management.
Responsibilities

• Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with GAAP on a consolidated basis for both the TopCo and sub-entities across different jurisdictions and multiple currencies
• Provide timely and accurate financial reports to senior management, highlighting key performance indicators and variances
• Update and maintain general ledgers to ensure all financial data is accurate and up-to-date
• Reconcile ledgers and accounts to identify discrepancies and resolve them promptly
• Collaborate with management to develop and manage budgets (project level, overall, etc.)
• Monitor budget performance and provide insightful analysis of financial trends
• Conduct regular forecasting to support strategic decision-making
• Manage and optimize cash flow to ensure the organization's liquidity needs are met
• Implement effective cash management and treasury strategies
• Establish and enforce financial controls to safeguard the company's assets
• Conduct regular internal audits to ensure compliance with policies and procedures

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA designation preferred
• Proven experience as a Controller or in a similar financial leadership role, with 5-7 years of work history
• Stay abreast of changes in international financial regulations and implement necessary adjustments to ensure compliance
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills
• Strong understanding of GAAP and financial reporting requirements
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
• Proficiency in financial management software and advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel

• Preference for past experience working directly in audit or having audit-adjacent experience
