Job Overview
The Admissions and Recruitment Counselor - in a full-time role for a period of six months - assists with all aspects of the J.D. and Graduate (LL.M. & S.J.D.) admissions processes. In addition to reviewing and rendering decisions on applications, this position also requires representing the law school at recruitment fairs, forums, and panels, counseling students regarding the admissions process, and developing and implementing strategies for recruiting and yielding prospective students. They also work on diversity recruitment initiatives, and directs the production of certain print and online marketing materials. .
Work Interactions
The Admissions and Recruitment Counselor works with the Managers of the Office of Admissions to handle the technical components of the J.D. and Graduate admissions process, including online applications, database, and web issues. They conduct applicant interviews, assists with the scholarship review process and assists the Dean of Admissions, Assistant Dean of Graduate Admissions, and Director of Admissions with other projects as assigned.
Qualifications
J.D.
Familiarity with Microsoft Office, especially Excel
Ability to maintain confidentiality with sensitive information
Ability to work with a wide range of people including applicants, alumni, faculty, staff and students
Willingness and availability to work events on occasional evenings and weekends, and to travel for seasonal recruiting
Preferred qualifications
Experience with student information systems or similar databases
Working knowledge of web development technologies and emerging social media
Experience working in a very fast-paced environment and strong multitasking abilities
