Requirements
Database Manager Analyst of Survey, Recruitment, and Biospecimen Collection Shared Resources (temporary) - Georgetown University Medical Center
Georgetown's Survey, Recruitment, and Biospecimen Collection Shared Resource (SRBSR) provides advice and consultation services on most of the components of study implementation. SRBSR can assess the number of available cases, the feasibility of accrual, and biospecimen availability as part of planning new applications. SRBSR also consults investigators survey design, measures for use in patient surveys, subject tracking and data management, and regulatory issues; and advises investigators on the choice of available, validated survey instruments and items for capturing patient-reported health data based on the objectives of each study.
Job Overview
Under general direction of faculty and the data management core (DMC), the Database Manager - in a temporary role - provides data management and statistical consultation and collaboration on the design, conduct, analysis, and interpretation of research projects in population science. They assist with data management and analyses needs for health services research, genetic counseling and genetic testing studies, randomized behavioral interventions, and smoking cessation studies and observational studies, including survey research.
They provide data management and statistical consultation for faculty and postdoctoral researchers on the design and conduct of research projects relating to cancer control topics, including cancer surveillance, modeling of cost-effectiveness of cancer care delivery, and analysis of cancer related health care delivery and patient outcomes.
Work Interactions
Directly supervised by the SRBSR and the Principal Investigators, the Database Manager interacts and works closely with Study PIs, statisticians, research assistants and student interns. They collaborate with researchers in Lombardi Comprehensive Cancer Center in cancer research experiments and population studies; and interact with investigators and research staff on a daily basis to discuss issues in data collection, entry, and tabulation.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Database Management, Data Analytics or related field
At least 2 years of relevant experience in data analysis and modeling - preferably advanced programming and statistical skills in MS Access or SQL, SAS or SPSS proficiency or a Master's degree in Biostatistics or Applied Statistics or related with experience in data management
At least 2 years of experience - preferably in health care focused research projects (cancer in particular); as well as database programming, data management and analyses of survey data and large, secondary datasets
