Job Overview
The Georgetown University Center for Excellence in Developmental Disabilities (GUCEDD) - a major center within the Georgetown University Center for Child and Human Development (GUCCDHD) - has a mission focused on developmental and other disabilities across the lifespan and embeds the role of cultural and linguistic competence, diversity, equity, and inclusion within the contexts of systems of supports and services for this population. The GUCEDD has recently been awarded a contract from the State of California, Department of Disability Services to design and conduct an independent evaluation of the states' efforts to advance equity and reduce disparities in the developmental disabilities services system.
The Project Research Associate is primarily responsible for supporting a community-based evaluation and performs tasks such as Institutional Review Board applications, quantitative and qualitative data collection design, collection, entry, and management; literature reviews and syntheses; statistical analyses; report writing; participation in research and evaluation team activities; and general office/administrative assignments.
Work Interactions
Working with the Research division of the GUCEDD, and reporting to the Director of Research and Evaluation, the Project Research Associate supervises a Research Assistant, and interfaces with project faculty and administrative staff, and our partner - Mission Analytics, and project consultants. In addition, they interact on a routine basis with members of California Developmental Disabilities System; and participate in meetings of the Research and Evaluation team, as well as center-wide meetings as needed.
Qualifications
Master's degree, with educational background in research and evaluation
At least 5 years of relevant professional work experience in design, monitoring, and evaluation, and applied quantitative and qualitative research methods in relation to the management of projects
Background knowledge and demonstrated interest in working projects related to individuals with developmental disabilities
Strong written and oral communication
Foundational social sciences research skills
Ability to maintain a research and evaluation library and catalogue of resources
Strong organizational, management, conceptual and analytical skills
Knowledge of library and web related research
Proficiency in MS Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel)
Database management and statistical software experience (SPSS)Strong interpersonal skills
Preferred qualifications
Background knowledge and demonstrated interest in equity and disparities related projects
Knowledge of Qualtrics and qualitative software
