The Front Desk Coordinator - in a temporary role - is the face of the Law Center's Office of Academic Affairs, and ensures timely, accurate assistance to students and faculty and effective coordination with our colleagues across the Law Center and University. Reporting to the Executive Director for Academic Advising, the Front Desk Coordinator has duties that include but are not limited to:
Offer a welcoming and helpful touchpoint for our faculty and student constituents and other visitors
Provide critical support to our academic advisors, course scheduling, and adjunct services teams
Provide computing, technical, research, clerical and administrative support to the Office of Academic Affairs staff
Provide consistent, professional, and timely assistance to the staff, students, faculty, and visitors to this office
Support the advising team in managing student appointment scheduling and assisting with communications
Answer faculty and student inquiries, receive and screen telephone calls, review email, and manage walk-in traffic
Direct inquiries from faculty and students, respond to frequently asked questions, and help manage the flow of requests, whether received in-person, by phone, or by email
Run reports and maintain data files; file documents; and prepare and send correspondence
Pull student information for advisors
Make reservations for events on campus; participate in meetings as requested
Support other staff on the course scheduling and adjunct services teams
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree or equivalent
3 to 4 years of administrative experience
Strong organizational, oral, and written skills
Demonstrated interpersonal skills
Commitment to working with a diverse student body and faculty
Ability to effectively serve diverse personalities, maintain poise and professional demeanor, act with diplomacy and tact, and exercise sound judgment and discretion when dealing with confidential and sensitive information in what can be a highly pressured environment
Preferred qualifications
Experience in event and meeting planning
