Position Objective: Provide services as a Project Manager (Logistics and Shipping) in support of the overall functions of the Vaccine Research Center (VRC), Office of the Scientific Director) (OSD) within the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID).

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Perform visual inspections of building support utilities and equipment.
• Proactively initiate contact with property management group regarding potential issues and maintain list of current projects/tasks through completion.
• Assist with space development plans, staff relocation, renovation projects, contractor oversight, and equipment installation.
• Perform property checks, maintenance of service contracts on lab equipment and monitoring inventory levels.
• Operate dolly/pallet jack in loading and unloading supplies and equipment; assist in routine maintenance of lab equipment and shipping area.
• Receive and deliver all packages, including hazardous material.
• Schedule large shipments and plan logistics to ensure that there is enough storage space for incoming items.
• Maintain records of items shipped and received by preparing regular shipping and receiving reports.
• Perform minor maintenance and repairs on commonly used laboratory equipment.
• Maintain cleanliness of the facility storage and work areas.
• Coordinate with and support Facility Manager in many day-to-day activities.
• Respond to central equipment monitoring alarms and attempt to resolve with or without outside help.
• Manage and monitor all service requests through the FMS system.
• Monitor lab gases for the facility, including the bulk tanks and dry ice, and track usage.

Basic Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field. Four (4) years of specialized experience plus a High School diploma is equivalent to a Bachelor’s degree.
• Minimum of two years of experience in a related field is required.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Ability to communicate effectively, orally and in writing, with non-technical and technical staff.
• Detail-oriented and possess strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks and projects
