FleetUp is Hiring a Business Development Project Manager Near San Jose, CA

Location: San Jose, CA

FleetUp is actively seeking a talented and experienced project manager to oversee a wide variety of Business projects from initial consultation to production rollout. You will have the chance to work closely with our customers, partners, and in-house teams to assess a customer’s needs, determine the right solution, and help manage the deployment schedule. This role will be critical to FleetUp’s success in bringing on new revenue partners and will have visibility and contact with Senior Management on a daily basis. We know how valuable your problem-solving and leadership skills are to our company’s success so this role will be reporting directly to the CEO of the company. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in project management within high-growth organizations. A technical degree is not required, however, this candidate must have a strong understanding of Cloud and IoT structure, and be able to grasp technical terms and communicate effectively between technical and non-technical parties. This candidate must also be comfortable presenting to individual contributors all the way up to C-level execs. We are a startup, so candidates should be comfortable rolling up their sleeves and doing whatever is required to support the mission. Specific duties include:

  • Meet with partners and potential customers to assess needs and determine the best FleetUp solution to meet those needs

  • Determine timeline, costs, resources required and revenue impact for each project

  • Create Project materials as required to effectively manage and communicate deliverables (commercial proposal, workflow diagrams, training materials, project timelines, etc.)

  • Collaborate with Senior Management and Sales on proposal and help pitch as needed

  • Manage projects with top-down oversight throughout entire execution to ensure success as defined by adherence to standards of scope and timeline.

  • Develop comprehensive project plans that merge customer requirements with company goals and coordinate various managers and technical personnel during all project phases, from initial development through implementation.

  • Monitor project progress continuously and make detailed scheduled reports on measurable items, such as milestones and deliverables.

  • Communicate proactively with all involved personnel to provide encouragement, identify problems, create solutions, and implement efficiency improvements.

  • Review proposed modifications on project plans, including meeting with interested parties to approve and implement beneficial changes.

  • Oversee acquisition of resources and materials as needed before and during projects by talking with customers, partners, team members, and managers. Follow up with each party as needed to ensure they are meeting deadlines

  • Anticipate details of future projects by communicating directly with customers and staying informed of relevant trends and industry news.

Job Skills & Qualifications

Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree (engineering, computer science or business-related preferred)

  • Extensive leadership experience

  • Excellent problem-solving skills

  • Strong communication skills are a MUST

  • Must be able to multi-task and manage time effectively

  • Minimum three years management experience in the IT field, including development work and interactions with customers OR experience with Business Development/Sales for a tech-focused product

Preferred:

  • Experience working with global companies or customers

  • Certification in one or more Project Management Methodologies

  • Any foreign languages are a plus!
