SUMMARY: Leads the overall operations of multi-business units consisting of health care, assisted living, and
other facilities. Overall accountability for the direction and business results of the facilities, including financial
growth, clinical outcomes, employee relations and development, and customer service. Understands the
dynamics of the local markets served and participates in the development of strategies to optimize market
position on an ongoing basis. Travel required

- Participates in the development, implementation and maintenance of all programs to ensure that patient care maximizes quality and continuity by utilization of appropriate resources and appropriate alternatives to resident care within the parameters of health plan benefits and established contracts.
- Responsible for the clinical, quality, financial nd patient satisfaction outcomes of the region.
- Identifies and participates in the development and implementation of care management and utilization management policies and procedures and ensures compliance throughout the region and consistency throughout the network.
- Closely monitors and analyzes all resident reports and identifies trends; and makes recommendations to the regional team regarding interventions to improve resource management.
- Develops and coordinates strategies for ensuring the delivery of care in the most appropriate setting.
- Assures that contracted providers are used and collaborates with Legal Department to obtain new contracts for specialty and ancillary services.
- Monitors all high risk/high utilizing patients in regard to care delivery, referrals, contracting, etc.
- Monitors provider referral patterns for appropriate utilization of specialty and ancillary services.
- Initiates organizational and system changes to improve departmental efficiency and effectiveness with respect to staffing, and improves the outcome of care management programs within the region.
- Identifies, develops and oversees the educational needs of care management staff, providers and other areas indicated.
- Identifies opportunities for the development of new care management approaches including the processing of referrals and preparation of proposals with cost analysis.
- Develops and manages regional business plan and budget along with the Accounting Team.
- Works collaboratively with other Vice Presidents/ Directors to ensure that appropriate processes are in place to maintain compliance with regulatory bodies.
- Sets a professional example and be a role model exemplifying the vision and values of Exceptional Living Centers.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Responsible for overseeing management and optimization of all care management activities as it relates
to inpatient and ambulatory health care delivery programs within the region. Manages regional managers
and Executive Directors. Provides supervision, guidance and mentoring to managers and staff reporting
to this position. Works cooperatively with the other VP/Directors of Operations. (Coordinates or performs
projects/activities as delegated by the President of Exceptional Living Centers). Motivates and leads the
staff in setting and reaching goals for continuous improvement.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
Completion of a bachelors degree in business, healthcare, or a related field preferred a minimum of five
(5) years experience as a nursing home administrator or a minimum of five (5) years experience in multifacility operations management or consultation (in finance, clinical, human resources or other related
field) in long term care with demonstrated ability to achieve desired business results. Demonstrated
leadership skills necessary to foster performance behaviors that drive desired business results. Business
acumen in the areas of revenue enhancement, cash management, people management and
development, financial management, and functioning in a highly regulated environment. Able to relate
positively, favorable, and cooperatively with others, including associates and personnel of outside
agencies and organizations. Proven decision making and analytical skills. Current knowledge of
Medicaid, Medicare and other case mix payment systems. Knowledge of Federal and State regulations.
Regularly communicates to regional team members on matters related to compliance, patient liability,
adverse events and regulatory issues. Able to meet all local health regulations. Must be able to travel
consistent with demands of the position.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:
A nursing home administrator license in good standing in the applicable state is preferred. Must have a
valid driver’s license with a good driving record.
Significant Travel will be required.
