Edges Electrical Group is Hiring a Human Resources Generalist Near Sacramento, CA

We are currently recruiting for a Human Resources Generalist to support our dynamic team and growing organization at our Sacramento, CA location. This role will be involved in all areas of human resources but may have primary areas of focus including employee relations, and training and development, for 12 branch locations, and 350 employees. Ideal candidates will have demonstrated experience in administering safety programs in a warehouse or supply chain environment. This role may require up to 25% travel with quarterly visits to all branch locations throughout Northern CA.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Acts as an employee relations specialist. Conducts investigations, coaches, counsels and guides managers in execution of employee disciplinary actions.
  • Leave of absence administration. Consults with employees and managers on eligibility and rights. Monitors an tracks leaves, ad health insurance premiums due.
  • ADA Administration. Engages in interactive process with employee, consults with management, and determines reasonable accommodation.
  • Ensures compliance with all laws, regulations and company policy.
  • Responds to and maintains all Unemployment, Disability and Paid Family Leave Claims in a timely manner. Attends unemployment hearings.
  • Distributes and monitors employee performance evaluations and ensures timely completion.
  • Assists with recruitment tasks as needed (reviews applications,interviews).
  • Maintains all employee and applicant documentation as dictated by governing agencies. Ensures compliance with USCIS Form I-9, Employment Eligibility Verification; periodically audits forms.
  • Updates, monitors and maintains eligible salary adjustments.
  • Manages Workers’ Compensation and Auto Accident claims. Files Reports, maintains and monitors all claims. Follows-up on open cases. Conducts root cause analysis. Coordinates return to work and light duty assignments. Recommends and works with management to implement corrective actions as necessary.
  • Supports company’s safety program. Ensures compliance with OSHA regulations and requirements. Provides consultation and training to Branch Safety Coordinators and Managers.
  • Administers benefits. Monitors employee eligibility for benefits plans. Reviews benefits with employees and processes enrollment, cancellation or changes. Communicates with carriers, COBRA TPA, and broker to resolve issues. Organizes and manages annual open enrollment communications and election process. Reconciles benefit billing, verifies accuracy and processes for payment.
  • Maintains and coordinates employee recognition programs.
  • Identifies training and development needs, sources/creates training programs, and coordinates/delivers training. Supports the professional growth and development of staff through skillbuilding initiatives. Audits and tracks all certifications. Works collaboratively with HR staff to develop and implement programs to enhance employee engagement and satisfaction.
  • Miscellaneous projects as assigned.

Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration or other related field, 3-5 years’ work experience in role of an HR Coordinator, Specialist or Generalist. Or eight to ten years human resources work experience.
  • Considerable knowledges of and experience with HR principles and practices, and administration of employment law.
  • Experience with investigating and resolving employee relations issues.
  • Experience administering leaves of absence, and workers’ compensation and safety programs
  • Experience administering benefits, including open enrollment, and 401k.
  • Experience with HRIS administration. Experience with ADP's Workforce Now preferred
  • An energetic, forward-thinking and creative individual with high ethical standards and an appropriate professional image.
  • A well-organized and self-directed individual who is a team player; with sound technical skills, analytical ability, good judgment, and strong operational focus.
  • An intelligent and articulate individual who posses effective oral and written communication skills who can relate to people at all levels of an organization, establish and maintain effective working relationships.
  • Intermediate proficiency in MS Office Suite, applied use of use of pivot tables, and knowledge of organizational tools such Monday.com highly desired

Base pay is just one piece of the total rewards program offered by Edges Electrical Group.
