Design Group is recruiting for a Design Manager - Toy / Craft in our Atlanta, GA location. This position reports to the Creative Director and will focus on toy, craft and / or related categories.

WHAT WILL I DO IN THIS ROLE?

• Design and manage trend forward, highly creative product design assortments that are aligned with our company and customer objectives.
• Collaborate with the Creative, Sales and Product Development teams to coordinate artwork and creative assets from initial concept design through to production.
• Work with the Creative Director & PD Teams to appropriately plan deadlines and resources to ensure projects are delivered within agreed timelines & budgets.
• Effectively communicate and create clear design briefs for in-house and freelance designers.
• Ensure use of existing design assets within the Atlanta studio and other group studios.
• Maintain up to date knowledge on product category trends and competitor product lines consistently throughout the year.

Actively conduct on-going market research for innovation and trend development and be able to translate this to create commercial products.

• Make sure presentations, both digital and mockups, are completed to a high standard. Ensure all products are designed to the correct specifications before presenting.
• Exercise flexibility to do what's best for the business needs.

WHAT SKILLS DO I NEED?

• Bachelor’s degree in packaging, graphic design, or a related field or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• 5 years of experience in a related consumer products industry. Management experience highly preferred.
• Manufacturing and printing knowledge of consumer products required. Highly prefer candidates with experience in categories such as, toy, craft, etc.
• Must understand technical and budget constraints when designing for each product type and work to consistently innovate new ways to work within these constraints.
• Must be proficient on the Mac Illustrator and Photoshop. Knowledge of In-Design and 3-D software programs highly preferred.
• Must have an outstanding portfolio of design and design directed product.

Qualifications :

• Help administer project safety program to maintain a safe and healthy work environment
• Helps provide technical assistance on the project, interprets contract drawings and submittals
• Assist assistant superintendent, project superintendent, and project manager with daily and weekly tasks including daily reports, daily safety walks, weekly quantity reports, and weekly schedule updates
• Understand the project schedule and the critical path
• Review content for the short term plan
• Participate in the quality program including attending meetings, performing inspections, and verifying materials
