Department of Toxic Substances Control is Hiring an INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY ASSOCIATE Near Sacramento, CA

As an Information Technology Associate you will have the opportunity to:
  • Manage IT hardware and software assets and coordinates their lifecycle through IT asset management standards
  • Ensure the tracking, monitoring, and auditing of IT assets in compliance with the State Administrative Manual and other policies and regulations
  • Support the ongoing assessment, evaluation, and audit of the effectiveness of asset management security controls
  • Partner with the Systems Software and Engineering team, the Information Security Officer, and business customers to ensure proper management of ongoing tracking, maintenance, and reporting of IT assets
  • Maintain accurate records of service requests, inventory assets, and supported activities Manage and maintain stockrooms to ensure all assets are captured

Desirable Qualifications We Look For:
  • Familiarity with asset management concepts gained through coursework, internships, or entry-level roles
  • Experience in using asset management software and tools, with the ability to learn and adapt to new platforms
  • Developing analytical skills with attention to detail and accuracy
  • Communication skills, enabling collaboration within a team environment
  • Ability to learn, understand, and apply new technologies
  • Customer service skills
  • Ability to prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment
  • Ability to deal tactfully with vendors, suppliers, and contractors across a broad spectrum of products and services
  • Ability to work both independently and in a team-oriented, collaborative environment
