ACCOUNTING DEPT: ACCOUNTS RECEIVABLE SPECIALIST

We are currently seeking qualified candidates for the following position at Conklin Metal Industries.

POSITION DESCRIPTION:

The Accounts Receivable role is primarily responsible for the daily posting of customer cash receipts and the distribution of customer invoices within the company’s ERP system. In addition, this position is required to be available to perform other accounting and administrative tasks on an as needed basis.

COMPANY DESCRIPTION:

Conklin Metal Industries is a distributor of all types of sheet metal, HVAC, and duct fabrication supplies. Our founding dates to 1874 and is now in its fourth generation as a family owned and operated business.

We service the entire southeastern U.S. out of fourteen (14) warehouses. Our customers include sheet metal contractors, mechanical contractors, duct fabricators, residential\multi-family new construction contractors, and HVAC contractors who specialize in service and replacements.

We are a one stop shop for every component used in the construction and installation of a commercial or residential HVAC Duct system. This includes the sheet metal for the rectangular or spiral/round duct, plus all the materials to connect, fasten, insulate, attenuate sound, control vibration, reinforce, direct air flow, provide access, and ultimately hang and seal. We also stock the widest array of sheet metal forming machinery in the southeast.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Post all bank deposits accurately to customer accounts within an ERP system

2. Post and distribute customer invoices within an ERP system

3. Prepare and transmit bank deposits as needed

4. Process customer credit card payments and respond to inquiries timely

5. Readily identify and communicate issues that arise from customer payments

6. Professionally communicate with customers regarding short or overpayments

7. Monitor branch activity to ensure completeness of invoicing and cash posting

8. Maintain organized system of filing various posting related reports and support

9. Communicate professionally with other staff, supervisors, customers and vendors

10. Ability to use the company’s ERP system efficiently

11. Ability to use Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook efficiently

12. Dependable and supportive of team environment

13. Able to meet daily, weekly, and monthly deadlines

14. Ability to react to change productively and to handle other tasks as assigned

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

This job operates in a business casual office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, printers, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• 3 years of related accounting experience
• Some college preferred, high school diploma required
• 2-3 years’ experience working in wholesale distribution, large scale construction, and/or for an HVAC contractor a plus
• Attention to detail
• Data Entry
• Proficient in Microsoft Office: Word, Excel, and Outlook
• Experience with ERP systems
