About the Role

The Chief Financial Officer (CFO) is a key leadership role responsible for the strategic and operational management of the finance and accounting department. The CFO will oversee financial health, sustainability, and compliance, playing a pivotal role in steering the organization's financial strategy. This includes developing and implementing strategic initiatives to optimize financial performance, guiding the implementation of organizational and program strategy, and leading financial analysis and reporting for management and the Board of Directors. The CFO will also maintain financial records, supervise financial operations and accounting staff, and ensure the organization's practices align with regulatory requirements.Candidates for the CFO position should have a Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field, with an MBA or CPA being a plus. A minimum of 10 years of accounting experience, including 5 years in nonprofit management, is required. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of driving financial performance, be proficient in Microsoft Office and fund accounting software, and possess excellent people skills for collaboration in a diverse team. Strong leadership abilities are essential for effectively managing and inspiring a team, and a passion for the mission of the organization is a must.
