Community Access, Inc. (CA), founded in 1974, is a progressive not-for-profit organization that expands opportunities for people living with mental health concerns to recover from trauma and discrimination through affordable housing, training, advocacy, and healing-focused services. We are built upon the simple truth that people are experts in their own lives. Our programs are spread across 25 locations and include over 1200 units of supportive housing in three boroughs, the Howie the Harp Advocacy Center, East Village Access—a PROS program, Peer-driven Crisis Respite Center, Adult Home Initiative and Assertive Community Treatment (ACT).
Department Overview
Blueprint is a Supported Education program designed to assist people who have experience with the mental health and criminal justice systems to successfully pursue their education goals. Blueprint supports current, returning, and prospective students with goals including high school equivalency, college and university programs, or technical training programs. Blueprint staff utilize a range of strategies to facilitate skill development and academic achievement including assistance with school admissions processes and financial aid applications, developing wellness strategies, support with classroom learning and study skills, advocacy, and negotiating accommodations.

Position Overview
The Administrative Assistant provides administrative and operational support to Blueprint staff. Responsibilities include on-site front desk reception, establishing and maintaining data management and quality assurance systems, assisting the staff with data entry, record keeping, and report-related activities, helping with the planning and execution of participant and program activities, performing routine administrative duties, outreach, marketing and promotion, and assistance in maintaining compliance with the program’s regulatory practices.
