Job Description As the Director of Learning and Development reporting to the VP of Learning & Career Enablement, you'll lead our global leadership skill development strategy, encompassing leadership programs for emerging, new, experienced, and executive leaders. You will foster a culture of learning and leadership excellence across The Times and will influence and collaborate with partners across all levels, including partnerships with HR Business Partners and the Talent Management Team. You will have managerial responsibilities and have direct report(s) in this position. You will be in a hybrid position where you will be in our NYC headquarters 3 days per week. If you're passionate about creating leadership development experiences, possess instructional design, program management, and facilitation skills, and can collaborate at all levels, we'd love to hear from you. Responsibilities: As the Director of Learning and Development, you will define leadership excellence at all levels and your responsibilities will include: Craft and build an end-to-end leadership development strategy for emerging, new, experienced, and executive leaders. Lead large-scale learning and leadership development projects globally, serving as a program manager, a strategic partner, and as a facilitator, when needed. Develop and implement learning experiences across live, online, and hybrid platforms to meet diverse needs. Customize content for several departments and deliver strategic and tactical solutions that support high-growth environments. Employ solutions tailored to real-world challenges, and demonstrate results on business objectives through learning programming. Deploy a multi-channel communications strategy in partnership with Culture & Communications to build awareness of and participation in development offerings Integrate relevant tools and platforms to deliver and enhance offerings Demonstrate all of the Values and Behaviors of The New York Times and be able to present and consult on all related work to lead cultural transformation. Develop a team of learning and development professionals to build capacity and expertise within the team. Basic Qualifications: 10 years of global experience leading large-scale learning and leadership development programs, with a track record as a program manager and team leader. 5 years of experience in instructional design across several formats, with a focus on building learning experiences to align with our goals for leaders across the organization. 5 years of experience in a strategic position designing and integrating overarching frameworks and individual learning experiences. 3 years of management experience coaching and developing a team of learning and development professionals. Preferred Qualifications: 5 years of experience in a learning and development position with consulting skills,, influencing, facilitation, and partner management.
