The Business Development Director identifies outside organization opportunities s and interacts with all staff levels of that same organization, including senior leadership, to advise them on specific opportunities and areas of focus on commercialization or business development.

Job Responsibilities:

• Identifies outside organizations who are in need of commercialization, business development and operational support.
• Meets with Key Opinion Leaders to understand requirements necessary for products to be successfully adopted into the marketplace by understanding needs of end users, market dynamics, capital requirements and business operations.
• Provides leadership on business process optimization advisory projects, technology/medical device product evaluation, medical device /information technology commercialization and executive level sponsored pre-investment due diligence projects.
• Provides expert guidance on shepherding technologies through commercialization process.
• Other duties as assigned.

Education:

• Bachelor's Degree in business, engineering or related field.
• Master’s degree preferred.

Certifications:

• None required.

Complexity of Work:

• Ability to perform basic market research, write up of discovered information, conclusions and recommendations.
• Demonstrated ability to teach and coach team members in project management methodologies and tools.

Work Experience:

• Minimum of 10 years of experience leading people and projects in assigned area which may include experience in a technical product review environment, experience involving complex financial system applications, etc.
• Additional qualifications may include experience in the identification and commercialization of early stage medical technology. Keen analytical skills and business acumen are required along with proven track record in delivering sustainable business solutions.

Physical Requirements:

• Manual dexterity to operate office equipment.
• May require periods of sitting, standing and the ability to walk to various locations throughout the health system to attend meetings. 
• Must have normal or corrected vision and be able to clearly communicate verbally by phone or in person.
• Must have own transportation to travel to multiple sites.

• Follows standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required.

Pay Range

Minimum hourly: $53.90

Maximum hourly: $82.19
