POSTION: RESTAURANT MANAGERFLSA DESIGNATION: EXEMPTPOSITION REPORTS TO: GENERAL MANAGERSALARY RANGE: $75,000-$85,000 PER YEARPOSITION PURPOSE:A Restaurant Manager is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of a restaurant. Their duties include hiring and training restaurant staff following company policies, speaking with diners to address concerns or solve problems and creating work schedules for restaurant staff. A Restaurant Manager is also responsible for assisting the General Manager with other duties.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND BASIC DUTIES:
  • Ensuring incoming staff complies with company policy.
  • Training staff to follow restaurant procedures.
  • Maintaining safety and food quality standards.
  • Keeping customers happy and handling complaints.
  • Organizing schedules.
  • Keeping track of employees’ hours.
  • Recording payroll data.
  • Supervising daily shift operations.
  • Ensuring all end of day cash outs are correctly completed.
  • Coordinating daily front-of-house operations.
  • Interacting with guests to get feedback on product quality and service levels.
  • Following opening and closing procedures.
  • Organize and oversee lunch and dinner service.
  • Assisting the General Manager with other administrative tasks.
  • Completing financial and daily activity reporting.
SPECIFIC JOB KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:The individual must possess the following knowledge, skills and abilities and be able to explain and demonstrate that he or she can perform the essential functions of the job, with or without reasonable accommodation, using some other combination of knowledge, skills, and abilities:
  • Requires good communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Ability to learn and perform all essential job functions accurately and safely.
  • At least a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • At least 2 years of experience in a similar role.
  • Prior work as a manager or supervisor
  • Excellent customer service.
  • Keen knowledge in the Food and Beverage industry.
  • Training in food safety.
  • Financial literacy.
  • Ability to keep inventory organized.
  • Proficient Microsoft Office knowledge and skills.
  • Strong time management and organizational skills.
  • High degree of attention to detail.
PHYSICAL ACTIVITIES AND REQUIREMENTS OF THIS POSITION:
  • Most work tasks are performed indoors. Temperature is moderate and controlled by facility environmental systems.
  • Must be able to exert well-paced ability in limited space and to reach other locations of the property on a timely basis.
  • Requires grasping, writing, standing, sitting, walking, repetitive motions, bending, climbing, listening and hearing ability and visual acuity.
  • Requires manual dexterity to use and operate all necessary equipment.
QUALIFICATION STANDARDS:Education: High school diploma or equivalent.Experience Required: At least 2 years of previous experience in a similar role.Licenses or Certificates: Ability to obtain and/or maintain any government required licenses, certificates or permits.Grooming: All employees must maintain a neat, clean and well-groomed appearance per Company standards.INTENT AND FUNCTION OF JOB DESCRIPTIONSAll descriptions have been reviewed to ensure that only essential functions and basic duties have been included.
