General Description:

CVTC is looking for an experienced strategic leader who would like to make a positive impact in an extremely rewarding industry that provides training and support to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities.

This position is an Executive role, and the selected candidate will be an active member of the corporate management team.

Under the direct supervision of the Chief Executive Officer the Director of Human Resources (HRD) is responsible for carrying out all phases of human resource activity including but not limited to compensation, employee benefits, staffing and recruitment, training and development, workers’ compensation, safety program, and employee relations and HR policies. The Director of Human Resources serves as primary liaison to employees in communicating company relations and services and promoting positive employee relations.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with other senior leaders to develop a strategy that will help grow the company and maintain its competitive edge by maximizing employee engagement, retention, and recruitment practices.
  • Oversees all internal investigations and leads all legal matters.
  • Maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law; advising the Executive Team members and recommending policy changes as needed.
  • Oversees the administration of all human resource programs including, but not limited to compensation, benefits and leave, disciplinary matters, disputes and investigations, talent management, productivity, recognition and morale, occupational health and safety, and training and development.
  • Oversees the recruitment efforts and helps to devise a talent acquisition strategy to find the best potential candidates for vacancies throughout the organization.
  • Facilitates professional development, training, and certification activities for HR staff and ensures their ability to meet the department’s standards, goals, and objectives.
  • Supervise a team of up to six administration team members.
  • Answer routine inquiries from inside or outside the company for factual information on subjects such as employment verification, job openings, benefits claim processing, 401(k) plans, and employee accruals.

Starting Salary

$113,112/yr.

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum of 7-10 years leading an HR department
  • California Driver License
  • Proof of Auto Insurance
  • BA/BS or Transcripts showing proof of completion
  • Provide a DMV Printout
  • Driving your own vehicle is required (We reimburse mileage!)
  • Physical requirements include - passing a TB test, a drug screen, and a physical
  • Fingerprinting/Background Screening per state requirements
