Overview:

CenterPointe Yacht Services is seeking a detail-oriented and highly organized individual to join our team as an Accounting Assistant. As an Accounting Assistant, you will work with many aspects of our accounting and information systems and support our Controller and Senior Accountant. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to gain experience in the accounting field and grow their career.

Responsibilities:

- Assist with the preparation of financial statements, reports, and budgets

- Perform data entry and maintain accurate records of financial transactions

- Process accounts payable transactions

- Process major unit sales transactions and track inventories.

- Conduct subsidiary ledger and account reconciliations and resolve any discrepancies

- Assist with general ledger and balance sheet reconciliation

- Prepare journal entries and assist with month-end closing procedures

- Reconcile bank accounts and balances on a daily basis

Skills:

- Proficient in using accounting software such as Quickbooks, or similar systems

- Strong understanding of basic accounting principles and financial concepts

- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in data entry

- Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment

- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

- Knowledge of account reconciliation techniques

- Experience with retail accounting including Lightspeed softwware is a plus

Qualifications:

- Proven experience as an Accounting Assistant or similar role is preferred

- Minimum Associate's degree in Accounting is required

- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel

- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal

Pay: $20.00 - $24.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
