Human Resources / Payroll Specialist Responsibilities
· Create and maintain accurate employee records and gather all related documentation and key details.
· Reviews and processes personnel actions related to employment and personnel information changes; tracks employees on leave status; enters and updates information in the HR system.
· Prepares and maintains a variety of correspondence, notices, files, records, and/or other related information.
· Maintaining the HR department's policies and programs
· Recommend and complete updates and revisions as identified and/or required.
· Responds to requests for information from employees and/or external vendors over the phone, in person, and via e-mail regarding a variety of Human Resources procedures, programs, job opportunities, and/or other related information.
· Answering supervisor and employees' questions regarding policies, their benefits and compensation options and assisting with the administration of their benefits.
· Coordinates recruitment process for the five locations
· Post job openings, review applicants, and conducting video interviews with potential hires.
· Maintaining records of all active job openings and received applications.
· Participate in recruitment events, talking to potential hires, and distributing promotional material.
· Completes background checks and employment verifications utilizing standard procedures.
· Provides new hires with the appropriate paperwork and details of their new role.
· Schedules employees, applicants, and /or other applicable individuals for orientation sessions, training sessions, and/or other related activities.
· Prepares, processes, and maintains a variety of operational activity tracking, and/or other related items related to assigned area of responsibility.
· Prepares bi-weekly payroll for all employees with oversight from the Finance Controller.
· Interpret FMLA and leave regulations.
Process all leave of absence paperwork in a timely manner including determining leave type, approve and deny FMLA requests, calculate and monitor leave durations and coordinate return to work.
· Send leave of absence information and FMLA documentation to employees, benefits staff, payroll and vendors.
· Assisting with audits, compliance reviews, and other mandatory reports.
Human Resources / Payroll Specialist Requirements
· Bachelor’s degree preferred or associate degree and two years of human resources experience.
· An equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job such as those listed above.
· Must be able to work under pressure and meet deadlines while maintaining a positive attitude and providing exemplary support to owners, leadership, supervisors, and employees.
· Ability to work independently and carry out assignments to completion with the parameters of instructions given, prescribed routines and standard accepted practices.
· Excellent verbal communication skills, including ability to effectively communicate with internal and external stakeholders. Develop positive relationships with internal administration team, supervisors, employees, and vendors that support the company’s HR system, and benefit programs.
· Strong written communications skills required for regular internal and external communications. communications.
· Must have excellent initiative, good judgement, and the ability to make timely decisions.
· A minimum of 1 year of human resource experience in a behavioral health provider setting is preferred.
