Career Site - New Applicants is Hiring an Analyst I/Benefits Near Las Vegas, NV

The Analyst I/Benefits supports the administration and maintenance of benefits programs for employees, retirees and their dependents. As a subject matter expert, this position provides analysis, education, communications, and operational support related to organizational benefits. Support is focused on health & wellness, retirement, financial planning, and/or time off programs. 

POSITION DIMENSIONS

This position is not responsible for people or budgets. The incumbent frequently exchanges information with all levels within the organization, outside vendors and consultants. 

QUALIFICATIONS

There are clear precedents and practices that the incumbent uses as guidelines to determine how this job is performed. This position requires a minimum of one year of relevant work experience plus a bachelor’s degree from an accredited university in Human Resource Management, Finance or related field; or equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential job responsibilities.

ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provides research and analytical support for the administration of organizational benefits programs at Southwest Gas
  • Prepares statistical analysis of benefit costs and trends, and makes recommendations to management regarding changes to plan provisions and financing
  • Provides support for the development and implementation of new, enhanced or revised benefits programs based on current trend analysis and policy direction
  • Responds to questions and escalations from HR Shared Services according to defined service level agreements (SLA's); prioritizes the customer experience and escalates as appropriate
  • Participates in meetings with Compensation, HR business partners (HRBP's), and other HR centers of expertise (COE's) to deliver holistic Total Rewards solutions to the business; includes completing assigned tasks
  • Assists in preparing employee presentations to explain benefits programs, changes and government-mandated disclosures; conducts meetings with individual employees or groups as needed and maintains confidentiality
  • Addresses employee benefits concerns and disputes, serving as a liaison between the employee or dependent and the plan administrator or insurer (as appropriate); ensures more complex issues are escalated and addressed by the appropriate employee or management level
  • Assists in the reconciliation of benefits provider billings and prepares documents for payment of invoices; billings include, but are not limited to, medical claims, life and disability, pension, etc.
  • Assists in the setup of new electronic vendor files
  • Assists in gathering and compiling data necessary to support completion of responses to data requests from regulatory commissions and external parties
  • Responds to or participates in benefits surveys
  • Participates in projects as assigned; may include large projects (e.g. SME involvement in the implementation or upgrade of technology that enables Benefits workflow and processes)
  • Performs related duties and responsibilities as assigned
  • Regular and predictable attendance is a condition of employment and is an essential function of the job

SALARY DETAILS

$56,903 - $85,355
