This is a Sherman Associates owned Hilton franchised location.

The Front Office Manager is responsible for the smooth running of the Front Desk operation and is accountable for providing an exceptional arrival and departure experience for all guests. The Front Office Manager plays a key role in ensuring total guest satisfaction throughout a guest stay and will be an excellent problem solver. This manager supervises, hires, and directs the daily efforts of the team to maintain high standards of service and guest experience to maximize profits through outstanding customer service. As applicable, this role will also act as the Manager on Duty for all areas of the hotel during evenings and weekends.

Pay: Ranging from $52,000 - $58,000, depending on experience

Schedule: We are currently seeking full-time availability to include some weekends and evenings.

Essential Functions

  • Operates the Front Office properly, efficiently and with profitability, which includes overseeing Front Desk staff, Night Audit, and Security
  • Promotes teamwork within the Rooms department and between other departments to ensure smooth operations and quality service including oversight of the hotel as manager on duty
  • Delegates duties and responsibilities to Front Desk colleagues and ensure that work processes are in a logical order
  • Ensures that Brand quality standards, policies and procedures of the company are properly understood and followed through and among front desk colleagues
  • Controls and analyzes departmental costs to ensure spending is within budget
  • Handles all guest complaints and comments relating to the Hotels and the departments tactfully
  • Cooperates and coordinates teamwork with other departments
  • Manages room inventory and availability on day of arrival
  • Ensures all preparations are made to for a smooth arrival for all guests
  • Ensures the department meets all audit requirements
  • Ensures all Front Desk staff are trained in all emergency/evacuation procedures
  • Monitors all Front Desk staff to ensure all proper procedures and cash handling occurs, deficiencies are corrected, retrained and disciplined as appropriate
  • Maintains Front Desk logs and reports to ensure all unresolved items are followed up and properly resolved in a timely manner
  • Completes additional duties as assigned


Minimum Requirements

Education & Experience

  • 2 - 5 years in hotel Front Office management experience
  • Extensive knowledge of the hotel, its services, and facilities

Required Skills & Abilities

  • Displays leadership in guest hospitality, exemplifies excellent customer service and creates a positive atmosphere for guest relations
  • Compliance with federal, state and local laws regarding health and safety services
  • Proficiency with computers and computer programs, including Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook
  • Ability to work long shifts for special events and large crowds
  • Ensure Excellent verbal, written and presentation skills; ability to communicate effectively with community partners, vendors / external parties, and across internal divisions
  • Ability to communicate effectively and follow directions in a multi-lingual environment
