Bowhead is Hiring an Accounts Payable Specialist (Entry Level) Near Springfield, VA
Overview
Bowhead is seeking an entry level Accounts Payable Specialist to join our Finance department at our corporate headquarters in Springfield, VA. The successful candidate will provide support in our Accounts Payable department and possess the ability to multi-task, work efficiently under pressure, meet all deadlines and be a strong team player. This is a part-time hourly position reporting to the Accounts Payable Manager. Work hours are expected to average 24 hours per week with potential to move to full time.
Responsibilities
• Entering and posting transactions in the Deltek Costpoint accounting system. This includes both AP and PO voucher processing.• Administration of our corporate credit program to include accurate coding, reconciling, issuing credit cards, resetting passwords, and making credit card payments, etc. • Accurate, and detailed accounting work in accordance with GAAP and Federal Acquisition Regulations.• Performing a variety of non-routine clerical/accounting functions in accordance with standard procedures.• Communicates with other departments and/or outside agencies to resolve problems.
• Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
• Completion of or substantial progress towards a college degree in related subjects is ideal. This requirement can also be satisfied by equivalent work experience. • Proficiency in MS Excel, MS Outlook, and MS Word. • Aptitude for working with detailed accounting information and computer systems. • Ability to communicate verbally and in writing with co-workers, vendors, and customers. • General knowledge of government contracting and Joint Travel Regulations is a plus. • Prior exposure to working with Deltek Costpoint is a plus.
SECURITY CLEARANCE REQUIRMENTS: Currently there are no security clearance requirements for this position however, candidates must be able to successfully pass a background check. Bowhead reserves the right to change this requirement if necessitated by business needs or contractual obligations.

• Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds
• Must be able to stand and walk for prolonged amounts of time
• Must be able to twist, bend and squat periodically
