JOB TITLE: Billing and Accounts Specialist (In office)
STATUS: Full Time
HOURLY RATE: $22-$26/hr depending on experience
SCHEDULE: M-F 8:30-5:30
REPORTS TO: Business Officer
Premier Pediatric Therapy Source (PPTS) is a growing therapist-owned practice with big dreams and a strong passion to serve children with diverse abilities and their families throughout the DC metro area. We provide Occupational, Physical, Speech and Nutrition services to children birth to 18 years and are centrally located between Northern Virginia, Washington DC and the Capital Region of Maryland. JOB SUMMARY:
As the Billing Specialist, you will play an integral role in creating an exceptional experience for our families and safeguarding the practice’s revenue and cash flow through timely and accurate claims submissions, minimizing accounts receivable and swift resolution of billing inquiries.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Conducts insurance verifications to determine eligibility, benefit coverage and family cost shares
Obtains and maintains authorizations
Reviews claims to ensure payer and CCI edit requirements are met prior to submission to the Practice’s clearinghouse
Addresses claim denials and resolves family billing inquiries and delinquent accounts
Processes A/R invoices
Posts insurance and client payments into the practice electronic medical record and reconciles account ledgers
Provides coverage at the front desk as needed, answering calls and scheduling appointments
Runs weekly and monthly reports, analyze data and develops action plans to improve revenue and cash flow
Assists with special projects
All other duties as assigned
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
AA Degree or higher. Equivalent experience will be considered in lieu of formal education.
Minimum 3 years of experience with medical billing
Must be able to read and understand online eligibility/benefit information and EOBs/Remittance Advice
Excellent analytical, interpersonal and oral/written communication skills with strong conflict resolution abilities
Strong time management and organizational skills; ability to handle multiple concurrent assignments, with a high degree of efficiency and accuracy
Decisiveness with a strong ability to independently problem solve
Knowledge and adherence to the laws and ethics of health insurance billing and HIPAA
Proficient in modern office technology and computer programs including Electronic Medical Records, Outlook, Excel, Word, etc.)
Must have reliable transportation
Successful completion of an FBI Background Check
Negative TB test
Proof of full vaccinations against COVID-19
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Bilingual English/Spanish
Rehab/Habilitative therapy billing experience
