• Conducts insurance verifications to determine eligibility, benefit coverage and family cost shares
• Obtains and maintains authorizations
• Reviews claims to ensure payer and CCI edit requirements are met prior to submission to the Practice’s clearinghouse
• Addresses claim denials and resolves family billing inquiries and delinquent accounts
• Processes A/R invoices
• Posts insurance and client payments into the practice electronic medical record and reconciles account ledgers
• Provides coverage at the front desk as needed, answering calls and scheduling appointments
• Runs weekly and monthly reports, analyze data and develops action plans to improve revenue and cash flow
• Assists with special projects
• All other duties as assigned

• AA Degree or higher. Equivalent experience will be considered in lieu of formal education.
• Minimum 3 years of experience with medical billing
• Must be able to read and understand online eligibility/benefit information and EOBs/Remittance Advice
• Excellent analytical, interpersonal and oral/written communication skills with strong conflict resolution abilities
• Strong time management and organizational skills; ability to handle multiple concurrent assignments, with a high degree of efficiency and accuracy 
• Decisiveness with a strong ability to independently problem solve
• Knowledge and adherence to the laws and ethics of health insurance billing and HIPAA
• Proficient in modern office technology and computer programs including Electronic Medical Records, Outlook, Excel, Word, etc.)
• Must have reliable transportation
• Successful completion of an FBI Background Check 
• Negative TB test
• Proof of full vaccinations against COVID-19

• Rehab/Habilitative therapy billing experience
