JOB TITLE: Billing and Accounts Specialist (This is an in-office position).
STATUS: Full Time.
HOURLY RATE: $25-$28/hr depending on experience.
SCHEDULE: M-F 8:30-5:30.
REPORTS TO: Business Officer.
Premier Pediatric Therapy Source (PPTS) is a growing therapist-owned practice with big dreams and a strong passion to serve children with diverse abilities and their families throughout the DC metro area. We provide Occupational, Physical, Speech and Nutrition services to children birth to 18 years and are looking for a dedicated and experienced professional to join our dynamic administrative team. Our mission is to provide every child with opportunities to develop skills that will support success within their current environments and throughout their lives.
JOB SUMMARY:
As the Billing and Accounts Specialist, you will play an integral role in the financial growth and development of the practice so we can serve an even wider range of needs in the pediatric community.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Reviews claims to ensure payer and CCI edit requirements are met prior to submission to the Practice’s clearinghouse.
- Addresses claim denials and swiftly resolves client billing inquiries and delinquent accounts.
- Processes client invoices.
- Posts insurance and client payments into the practice electronic medical record and reconciles account ledgers.
- Obtains and maintains authorizations.
- Provides coverage at the front desk as needed.
- Runs weekly and monthly reports, analyzes data and develops action plans to improve revenue and cash flow.
- Assists with special projects.
- All other duties as assigned.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- AA Degree or higher. Equivalent experience will be considered in lieu of formal education.
- Minimum 3 years of experience with medical billing (preferably therapy billing).
- Must be able to read and understand online eligibility/benefit information and EOBs/Remittance Advice.
- Knowledge and adherence to the laws and ethics of health insurance billing and HIPAA.
- Proficient in modern office technology and computer programs including Electronic Medical Records, Outlook, Excel, Word, etc.)
- Must have reliable transportation.
- Successful completion of an FBI Background Check.
- Negative TB test.
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bilingual English/Spanish.
- Rehab/Habilitative therapy billing experience.
