We’re seeking a future team member for the role of Senior Business Manager to join our Buy Side trading Solutions team within Global Markets. This role is located in New York City - HYBRID.

What we do: 

BNY Mellon Markets helps clients access financial markets to solve their trading, financing, liquidity, and collateral needs. The Markets business is comprised of approximately 800 people in over 25 locations globally, serving over 2,500 clients in more than 80 jurisdictions.

Buy-Side Trading Solutions is our global multi-asset trading service which combines buy-side trading expertise, quantitative insights, and a scalable platform to help clients reduce costs, improve trading outcomes, and enter new markets efficiently. We provide 24/6 global trade execution within equities, fixed income, derivatives, and foreign exchange.

Role Overview:

Reporting directly to the head of Buy-Side Trading Solutions, the role will involve working across the entire business, as well as our clients and regulators. The successful candidate will join a highly motivated and experienced team, with significant responsibility for business growth through: (1) Developing and executing business strategy, (2) Driving accountability and ensuring high-quality execution among all key stakeholders in achieving commercial targets, and (3) Identifying and mitigating risks to strategic deliverables, the core operating environment, and regulatory and control initiatives

In this role, you’ll make an impact in the following ways: 

• Directly support the head of Buy-Side Trading Solutions in leading and growing the business
• Independently drive business strategy and commercial projects to effect material change to the business
• Act as key partner with Legal, Compliance, Risk, Finance, Operations, Engineering and Audit to drive prioritization and accelerate delivery timelines 
• Manage a portfolio of initiatives and interface with external and internal examiners for regulatory exams or audits
• Deliver key business updates to senior business leaders on commercial milestones, initiatives, and challenges
• Manage the annual financial planning process in conjunction with the CFO focused on business strategy, initiatives, and commercial outcomes

• Minimum 5-10 years’ experience in Financial Services and/or Management Consulting (structured problem solving)
• Strong Trading product knowledge
• Experience and demonstrated results in a complex environment
• High level proficiency in Microsoft Office products

The base salary for this position is expected to be between $119,000 and $221,000 per year at the commencement of employment. However, base salary if hired will be determined on an individualized basis, including as to experience and market location, and is only part of the BNYM total compensation package, which, depending on the position, may also include commission earnings, discretionary bonuses, short and long-term incentive packages, and Company-sponsored benefit programs.
This position is at-will and the Company reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, change in geographic location, Company or individual department/team performance, and market factors.
