```Job Overview```
We are seeking an experienced Accounts Payable Specialist to join our finance team. As an Accounts Payable Specialist, you will be responsible for managing and processing all accounts payable transactions for the company. This is a critical role that ensures accurate and timely payment of invoices and maintains strong vendor relationships.

```Duties```
- Process accounts payable invoices, ensuring accuracy and adherence to company policies and procedures
- Review and reconcile vendor statements, resolving any discrepancies in a timely manner
- Prepare and process weekly check runs or electronic payments
- Maintain accurate records of all accounts payable transactions
- Respond to vendor inquiries and resolve any payment issues or discrepancies
- Assist with month-end closing activities, including reconciling accounts payable sub-ledger to the general ledger
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to streamline processes and improve efficiency

```Experience```
To be successful in this role, you should have the following qualifications:

- Strong knowledge of financial concepts, including double entry bookkeeping, GAAP, and SOX compliance
- Proficiency in using accounting software, such as PeopleSoft or similar ERP systems
- Experience in accounts receivable or other related financial roles is a plus
- Technical accounting skills, including understanding of tax regulations and reporting requirements
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in data entry
- Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Strong communication skills to effectively interact with vendors and internal stakeholders
- Familiarity with QuickBooks now
