Summary
The Account Manager is tasked with selling products or services, driven solely by meeting sales quotas. Success is defined by efficiently managing assigned territories and conducting in-person visits to customer sites. The focus is on achieving business targets through rigorous territory management. In addition, the individual will forge lasting, profitable relationships with customers while upholding a consistently professional image for the company.
Integrity, passion, and in-person presentation skills are essential for this role.
Job Duties
  • Business Growth and Development
  • Grasp technical skills and technical sales concepts quickly
  • Generate and develop new customer accounts to increase revenue, by cold calling, emails, direct mail, company sponsored trade shows and referrals
  • Conduct physical visits to customer (potential customer) locations. This includes pre-visit planning/meetings, opportunity identification and qualification, potential market verticals of client and more as necessary
  • Perform professional presentations or demonstrations of company product(s)/services(s) while on-site
  • Overcome objections of prospective customers
  • Emphasize product/service features and benefits, quote prices, discuss credit terms, and prepare sales order forms and/or reports
  • Ensure follow-up is performed and maintained on a week to week basis.
  • Always maintain professionalism, tact, diplomacy, and sensitivity to portray the company in a positive manner
  • Actively manage call schedule to adequately cover assigned territory and accounts in a time-efficient manner
  • Use marketing data, as well as success stories from our partner companies to maximize sales efficiency and effectiveness and promote the company’s product(s)/ service(s)
  • Maintain accurate records; including sales call reports, expense reimbursement forms, billing invoices, and other documentation utilizing various relationship management software (I.e. CRM, Nav, Excel, etc.)
  • Assist in creating Requests for Proposal (RFP) type responses to potential clients
  • Penetrate all targeted accounts and radiate sales from within client base.
  • Periodically conduct information-only presentations, such as seminars, trade show demonstrations, and other efforts
  • Make front-line assessment of market conditions and advise company on findings
  • Build and maintain ongoing awareness of new products and services, competitor activities, and other research
  • Assist in other duties as requested by management
Working Conditions
  • Frequent travel by plane and vehicle is required, often up to several hours of driving per day
  • When not traveling, be working from office or home office location beginning at 8 a.m. until 5 p.m. Monday through Friday and available by phone and email occasionally after business hours
  • Occasional lifting of items up to 50 lbs.

  • New Accounts Sales/Territory Manager Skills and Qualifications:
  • Presentation Skills, Internal Communications, Verbal Communication, Closing Skills, Motivation for Sales, Sales Planning, Territory Management, Prospecting Skills, Persistence, Meeting Sales Goals
  • Previous experience in the in home/contract sales and or project estimation is a plus but not required
  • An engineering, contracting, construction, or technical background is a plus, not required
  • Former pipe lining or related services account management experience is a plus, not required
