APPLECART is Hiring an Office Manager Near New York, NY

About the Role:

As the Office Manager at Applecart, you will be the first point of contact for employees and guests entering our New York office. This role requires a blend of skills in office management, event planning, and attention to detail, ideally with previous experience working in a startup environment. Reporting to the Director of People, this person will be a key member of the company's dynamic People team. The Office Manager will be responsible for maintaining a well-stocked, efficient, and functional office space, in addition to planning company events and assisting with employee onboarding.

What You'll Do

  • Manage relationships with office vendors.
  • Proactively manage inventory of office supplies, company swag, and food & beverages.
  • Stock office supplies and food & beverages throughout the day
  • Coordinate with the building and other vendors to ensure a comfortable, clean, compliant, and safe work environment.
  • Ensure the onboarding process runs smoothly: work with hiring managers to ensure new hires are set up with the equipment they need and all sessions are scheduled.
  • Oversee office budget, including tracking expenses and optimizing costs where possible.
  • Be the first point of contact for visitors. Sit at the reception desk and greet visitors as they arrive.
  • Assist in scheduling and coordinating meetings, both internal and external.
  • Proactively address any office-related issues that arise and liaise with the building maintenance team to prevent issues from escalating.
  • Coordinate travel for employees when needed.
  • Act as the internal point of contact for all IT needs. Liaise with our IT Consultant on any IT needs.
  • Assist with planning and executing company events and team-building activities including happy hours, meals, company-wide meetings, anniversary & birthday celebrations, and more.
  • Draft internal and external emails, memos, and other communications.
  • Coordinate and manage office seating charts, moves, and desk organization.
  • Foster and help build a supportive, inclusive, collaborative, and fun company culture.

Who You Are

  • 2-7 years of experience as an office manager in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong attention to detail with expert organizational and follow-up skills.
  • High degree of professionalism, integrity, and confidentiality.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • High energy and ability to consistently take initiative.
  • Flexible and easy-going; you possess an energetic, upbeat disposition and excellent sense of humor.
  • You are energized working in a fast-paced, self-motivated team environment.
  • Past experience working at a startup.

This person will be required to work in person at Applecart's New York City office Monday through Friday.

Compensation:

Our compensation package consists of three components: (i) a base salary, (ii) annual cash bonus, and (iii) generous equity compensation.

The base salary range for this role is between $65,000-$85,000,based on the candidate's experience and skills relative to the requirements listed in the "Who You Are" section above. The salary range provided is exclusive of discretionary annual cash bonus and equity compensation. The salary range provided for this role is specific to candidates located in the New York City area.
