Albany Law School is Hiring a Remote Human Resources Coordinator

Albany Law School seeks a Human Resources Coordinator to be one of our team of three, providing a high level of service and support to our faculty and staff. We are looking for a team member who values collaboration, demonstrates initiative and enjoys contributing to all aspects of a busy HR Office. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is early in their HR career and wants to expand their knowledge and experience in: recruitment and onboarding, employee relations, compensation and benefits administration, and training and development.
Responsibilities include:
  • Coordinating recruitment and onboarding of adjunct faculty and preparing teaching agreements for each term. Assisting with recruitment and onboarding of full-time faculty and staff.
  • Assisting with benefits administration to include: reconciliation of benefit invoices to elections and deductions, COBRA and retiree billing and payment tracking, processing enrollment changes and preparing data and files for annual retirement plan audit and other compliance activities.
  • Assigning employee training on learning management system and monitoring progress to completion.
  • Monitoring for federal and state employment law changes and making related updates to state onboarding processes, and physical and online bulletin boards.
  • Assisting with planning and coordination of employee events and programs.
  • Identifying and coordinating community volunteer opportunities for the Campus Volunteer Program.
  • Managing the HR Office e-mail account and content on the school’s portal.
The successful candidate will possess:
  • Degree in human resources, psychology, business, or related field, or equivalent years of experience.
  • Minimum two years of human resources or payroll experience. Experience supporting recruitment and/or benefits administration strongly desired.
  • Ability to use Microsoft Office Suite products, databases and the internet. Familiarity with HR related computer systems, such as HRIS, ATS and payroll systems.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Cultural competence and sensitivity.
  • Ability to perform detailed work accurately.
  • Ability to follow established policies and procedures and think critically to solve problems.

Compensation: The estimated pay range for this position is $24.75-$32.00 per hour. Pay rate offered will be based on the successful candidate’s relevant experience, knowledge, skills and abilities, and in consideration of internal equity.
Comprehensive benefit package includes medical, dental, vision, retirement plan with 5% employer contribution, employer paid life insurance and disability coverage, and generous paid time off (PTO, volunteer time off, holidays and parental leave).
