This company seeks a seasoned accounting specialist with a focus on accounts receivable. This position is open due to a retirement. You will have an opportunity to train with the person that is retiring.
Accounts Receivable Specialist Responsibilities
- Invoicing: Generate and distribute accurate and timely invoices to clients. Assist with the firm’s invoice workflow process.
- Client Account Maintenance: Monitor and reconcile client accounts, ensuring timely and accurate recording of client payments and process approved credits.
- Communication: Collaborate with internal teams and external clients to address inquiries and resolve payment-related issues.
- Reporting: Prepare and present accounts receivable reports to management, highlighting key metrics, including client accounts with delayed payments, non-payments, and other irregularities.
- Process Improvement: Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency in the accounts receivable and billing functions.
Accounting Specialist Responsibilities
- Prepare and post journal entries, assisting the Financial Management Team with the timely completion of the month-end and year-end close cycle.
- Review general ledger, ensuring transactions are coded to appropriate general ledger account.
- Reconcile balance sheet accounts, including assisting with monthly bank reconciliations.
- All other duties as assigned.
Preferred Experience/Background/Skills
- 5 years of proven experience in a position with similar duties.
- High degree of accuracy and strong attention to detail.
- Must be comfortable with phone calls and responding to clients timely.
- Ability to work independently and under deadlines.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Strict adherence to professional ethics and confidentiality.
- Ability to use accounting information systems, Excel and other supporting software; comfortable with technology.
